Hey there! I’m Misty.
I’m a Central Iowa family and wedding photographer. I’m definitely more comfortable behind the camera than behind a keyboard, so bear with me.
Outside of photography, I’m a wife, a mom of four, a sister, a friend, and usually have some kind of craft project going. I love getting lost in a good book, even though I never seem to make enough time for it. My favorite color? Honestly, it's rainbow—I just can’t choose! If it sparkles, I’m probably going to love it. I love dark chocolate, pumpkin spice season, the smell of fresh lilacs, and a good herbal tea. I’m happiest soaking up the little things in life—the moon and stars, the smell of a bonfire, freshly cut grass, warm summer mornings, crisp fall nights, staying up way too late, and sleeping in when I can. I’m a bit of a hippy at heart and find so much joy in nature, and love doing my part to take care of our planet whenever I can.
Life isn’t perfect, and I don’t believe it has to be. The best moments are the real ones—the messy, joyful, emotional, in-between moments that make up our stories. I wear my heart on my sleeve, love my people fiercely, and believe those genuine connections are what matter most.
Photography has always been something I’ve loved, but after becoming a mom, it became so much more. I found myself trying to freeze every little moment, every smile, every milestone, every tiny detail I never wanted to forget. I fell in love with the way a single photograph could tell an entire story without saying a word.
After my third daughter was born, I knew photography was more than just a hobby. Like so many photographers, I started as a “mom with a camera,” but it quickly grew into a passion and eventually a career that I truly love.
It’s such an honor to preserve the moments that matter most to the families and couples I work with. My hope is that years from now, your photos won’t just remind you of what life looked like—they’ll remind you exactly how it felt.
